SUPPORTING THE LOCAL COMMUNITY
Much of the work of the Charity depends heavily on volunteers who kindly offer their time and expertise to provide an excellent service to the people they come into contact with.
Have you got any furniture that you no longer need, use, or is in damaged condition? Not to worry as we can provide an ‘up-cycling’ service to bring your old furniture back to life!
Inviting people to engage in a range of activities available in a safe and friendly environment throughout the day, tea and biscuits are available and a hot meal is provided for you thanks to the help of our donators.
We offer a wide range of furniture, clothes and household goods. The majority of our stock is pre-loved at prices we believe are hard to match anywhere across the Fylde Coast. All electrical items are PAT tested and function tested before being placed on the sales floor.
To comply with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 employers are under a legal duty to ensure that all electrical equipment is safe to use. Helping Hand is able to offer an affordable Portable Appliance Testing (P>A>T>) Service to local companies, shops, hotels and landlords.
The Charity began in the late 1990’s to help the Church respond professionally to the needs of people with life controlling and debilitation problems, such as drug and alcohol misuse.
A second hand double deck bus was purchased and kitted out with cooking facilities to provide something to eat and drink, video and TV set and a space for people to talk and get information. The outside of the bus was painted psychedelic and it became the ‘Drug Out Bus’.
Become a part of our family. Together, we
can save many lives and stop this hunger.
